India’s swift transition in digital banking has transformed the way customers interact with financial institutions. Recognizing this, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued multiple advisories, circulars, and master directions over the years that collectively form the foundation of digital accessibility guidelines for banks. While RBI does not publish a single standalone “accessibility law”, its regulatory expectations clearly mandate inclusive, barrier-free digital banking aligned with national laws and global standards.
